SBA offers programs to support the diverse needs of small business owners. From this page you can access information on programs related to technical, financial, contracting, education and disaster assistance, as well as special interests, advocacy and civil rights compliance.

Small Business Development Center Office      

Starting a business can be a challenge, but there is help for you in your area. Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) are partnerships primarily between the government and colleges/universities administered by the Small Business Administration and aims at giving educational services for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Are you located in one of the following central Indiana counties? Boone; Hamilton; Hancock; Hendricks; Johnson; Marion; Morgan; Shelby.  If so, you can access the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (CISBDC).

SBDC services include, but are not limited to, assisting small businesses with financing, marketing, production, organization, engineering and technical problems, feasibility studies, entity registration with the appropriate Secretary of State office and obtaining and employer identification number from the IRS. 

Assistance from an SBDC is available to anyone interested in beginning a small business for the first time or improving or expanding an existing small business, who cannot afford the services of a private consultant.

The SCORE Association “Counselors to America’s Small Business” is a nonprofit association comprised of 11,500 volunteer business counselors throughout the U.S. and its territories. SCORE members are trained to serve as counselors advisors and mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. These services are offered at no fee, as a community service.

The following lists some of the ways you can get in touch with SCORE and start getting the business advice you are looking for:

  •  Visit Your Local SCORE Office: Make an appointment with a mentor and talk face-to-face or attend a business workshop.
