Position Overview
Protective Insurance is seeking a full-time Regulatory Affairs Analyst to join its Legal Department in Carmel, Indiana.  This individual is responsible for preparing and efficiently filing commercial insurance rates, rules and forms.  

Primary Duties
Prepare and submit commercial rate, rule and form filings to State Insurance Departments, using SERFF and I-File.
Direct contact with State Insurance Departments for the purpose of obtaining approval of filings as expeditiously as possible.
Monitor status of filings, provide additional information and field inquiries as necessary.
Ensure that timely responses are submitted to State objections with appropriate attachments.
Complete close-out of filings in accordance with established state filing procedures.
Communicate State specific updates and filing status with internal business partners.
Maintain filing documentation in an organized and efficient manner.
Timely and accurately update internal databases used to track and report on the status of company filings.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.
Working knowledge of Insurance Department filing requirements, and thorough working knowledge of requirements for preparation and successful submissions of insurance filings and completion of the support documentation which is a part of such filings.
Knowledge of SERFF, ISOnet, and NCCI.
Background in Workers’ Compensation and Commercial Automobile insurance, preferably in an insurance company or agency.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Superior organizational skills to handle and control multiple assigned filings in all stages of submission and approval.
Ability to work under time constraints, independently and as part of a team.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of SharePoint also beneficial.
